Maau ai’n peeu jo chayo maj~Ije.
माउ ऐं पीउ जो चयो मञिजे.

Parents must be obeyed.

Sad~aa ad~aba me’n t~ini je rahije.
सदा अदब में तिनि जे रहिजे.

One must always live with respect for them.

Nit~u ust~aad~a khe maanu d^ije.
नितु उस्ताद खे मानु डि॒जे.

One should always respect one’s teacher too,

Jeea’n hoo chave t~eea’n kaje.
जीअं हू चवे तीअं कजे.

Do, as he (or she) says.

Bhaau bhen~a saa’n rakhije piyaaru,
भाउ भेण सां रखिजे पियारु,

Love should sustain for brothers and sisters.

T~ini saa’n kona kaje t~akraaru.
तिनि सां कोन कजे तक्रारु.

Don’t quarrel with them.

Savela sumhije, savela uth~ije.
सवेल सुम्हिजे, सवेल उथिजे.

Early to bed, early to rise.

Avali dh~an~eea jo naalo g^inhije.
अवलि धणीअ जो नालो गि॒न्हिजे.

First thing in the morning pray to God.

Koor^u na chaije, d^ije na gaari,
कूड़ु न चैजे, डि॒जे न गारि

Don’t tell lies, don’t call names.

Shai choraae, th~ije na khhuvaaru.
शै चोराए, थिजे न ख़ुवारु.

Do not steal anything and be condemned.
